These terms govern your use of FAKTS. By creating an account or using any FAKTS surface, including the website, app, API, MCP server, embeds, or bookmarklet, you agree to them. FAKTS is operated by [Legal entity name].
What FAKTS is
FAKTS is an AI-assisted verification service. You submit a claim, a document, a page, or a piece of media, and the consilium of independent models produces a verdict, a confidence, an explanation, and a set of sources. The output is an assessment, not an authoritative determination of fact.
Nature of the results, and what they are not
FAKTS output is generated by AI models querying live sources. It is intended as a research and editorial aid. It is not legal, financial, medical, tax, or other professional advice. FAKTS makes no representation that a result is complete or free from error. You should not rely on a FAKTS verdict as the sole basis for a consequential decision, and you remain responsible for how you use it.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You may close your account at any time from the account page.
Free-tier and usage limits
The free tier allows a small number of checks per day, currently 3 per day, along with limited use of related surfaces. We may adjust these limits with reasonable notice. Paid plans, if you subscribe, are described on the pricing page and are governed by the same terms together with any plan-specific conditions shown at checkout.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use FAKTS to:
- Submit content you do not have the right to submit.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or overload the service.
- Circumvent rate limits, quotas, or authentication.
- Generate or launder disinformation, harass others, or violate any law.
- Extract personal data about third parties in a way that violates their rights.
Intellectual property
You keep all rights in the content you submit. You grant FAKTS a limited licence to process that content for the sole purpose of producing your verification result, generating your certificate, and operating the service. FAKTS retains all rights in the product itself, its brand, its verdicts, and the derived signals it publishes on aggregate surfaces such as the Ledger and the Verified directory.
Public certificates and profile
When you explicitly mark a verified document or a profile as public, its public fields are shown at the corresponding public URL and may be embedded elsewhere. You can revert a public item to private at any time from your account.
Disclaimers
FAKTS is provided on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. FAKTS does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, [Legal entity name], its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of FAKTS. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid to FAKTS in the 12 months preceding the event that gave rise to the claim, or 100 EUR, whichever is greater.
Termination
You may stop using FAKTS at any time and delete your account. FAKTS may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, or where required by law, with notice where practical.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction]. Disputes are submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Jurisdiction], without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
Changes
