Accessibility

FAKTS aims to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. Our conformance target is WCAG 2.2 level AA, the reference standard used by the European Accessibility Act.

Our commitment

FAKTS is committed to making its website and product usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. Our conformance target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, which is also the reference standard for the European Accessibility Act.

What we have done

• Semantic landmarks: every page uses a single header, nav, main, and footer, and every page has a single first-level heading.
• A visible "Skip to content" link appears as the first focusable element on every page, so keyboard users can jump past the navigation.
• Keyboard focus is visible everywhere. A consistent 2 px orange focus ring appears on every interactive element when reached by keyboard, and never obstructs mouse users.
• Icon-only controls (menu toggle, share buttons, copy buttons, close buttons, the locale switcher, the report-an-error trigger) carry an accessible name, and purely decorative glyphs are hidden from assistive tech.
• Dialogs (the account deletion confirmation, the product takeover) use role="dialog" with aria-modal, an accessible label, keyboard trap while open, close on Escape, and return focus to the trigger on close.
• Menus and comboboxes (the Check dropdown, the locale switcher) expose aria-expanded, aria-haspopup, and are operable by keyboard.
• Forms have associated labels or accessible names on every input, textarea, and select, and live regions announce status updates.
• Color contrast meets 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components against the paper background. Color is never the only way we convey a verdict; every verdict also has a word.
• We respect prefers-reduced-motion. When users prefer reduced motion, the landing particle animation, the scan sequence, marquee, and large entrance animations are minimized or removed.
• Every meaningful image has descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive tech.
• The site is delivered in the visitor's language when supported, and the lang and dir attributes are set on the document element.

Known limitations

• Some third-party embedded content (for example social share previews or upstream analytics widgets) may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We work around that where we can and remove embeds that we cannot fix.
• A small number of complex data visualizations (progress panels, verdict tallies) rely on visual layout. We provide a text equivalent nearby, but the visual is the primary presentation.
• Automated captions or transcripts for user-submitted media are best-effort and may contain errors.
• Not all long-form legal, trust, or accessibility prose is translated into every locale. The authoritative version of these pages is in English, as noted at the top of each page.

Feedback and contact

If you cannot use part of FAKTS because of an accessibility barrier, please email yes@rizzgroup.org with a short description of the problem, the page URL, and the assistive technology you use. We aim to acknowledge every accessibility report within five working days and to resolve confirmed barriers in a reasonable timeframe.

Enforcement

If we do not respond satisfactorily, you may contact your national accessibility enforcement body. Within the European Union, each Member State designates the body responsible for enforcing the European Accessibility Act.
